CentraRSE organized a forum in Escuintla, under the name TransformaRSE (transforming yourself). This encounter among leaders of different sectors allowed the discussion of the role of social actors in the Guatemalan context to address the challenges and opportunities facing the department and the different members of society, while highlighting the responsibility of businesses in working responsibly and honestly. Five principles were presented: making common good a priority; complying with the law and encouraging compliance; acting ethically and assuming leadership; promoting dialogue and citizen participation, both individually and as companies; and reinforcing commitment to sustainable development through Corporate Social Responsibility management.
Among participants in the panel discussion were: Fernando Letona, Ingenio La Unión; Annekathrin Linck, GiZ; Juan Pablo Morataya, Centrarse; Víctor Hugo Palma, Bishop of Escuintla; and Abraham Rivera, Mayor of Escuintla.
