Over 500 children from different schools in the South Coast participated in a road safety education program launched jointly by PROVIAL, 3M, and the sugar cane growers in 2018. Lectures on road safety were offered at several schools: Aldea Filipinas, Caserío El Horizonte, Centro Educativo La Unión at Los Tarros Farm, Belén Farm, and the school at La Trocha 3, at Nueva Concepción. The purpose of this program is to help children learn about road signs and the different regulations in force for drivers, pedestrians, and authorities. Representatives of Pantaleón, Madre Tierra, Magdalena, and La Unión sugar mills also attended.
